The Friends of Waterloo Park always welcomes new members and you can be involved as much or as little as you like. Some of our members prefer to be involved in organising and staging events whilst others prefer to concentrate on gardening.

We hope to resume our monthly Saturday afternoon meetings in the upstairs room of the case when it re-opens. We will advertise the date and place on Facebook a few days in advance. We also welcome people who don’t want to, or are unable to, attend meetings but like to help with events and gardening. Send us an email.

We started work on the borders to the south of the pavilion in 2019 and have progressed to the borders to the north of the pavilion this year. We have a strong gardening group of about fifteen to twenty but as people have various commitments we usually have fewer than that at each session. So far we have planted all the beds and we will add to them year on year. Where possible we propagate our own plants or grow them from seed.

You will see from section on events, past and upcoming, that we have enjoyed organising several free events for our local community and we have more planned for the future. Keep an eye on our Facebook page as we always ask for volunteers.

We have worked closely with the City Council to write a Management Plan for the next ten years and applied for the Green Flag Award in 2020. Sadly, on that occasion we were unsuccessful. However, we hope to achieve it this year due to all the major improvements that have been made to the park’s infrastructure.
